If you don’t what the title of my post is all about, you should watch this movie posthaste.


I’ve never actually hear truer words before. Because I’m exactly that: “Whelmed.” I have returned from vacation with a sunburn. I got back to work. I started getting into my normal timezone, my normal routine, my normal minutia. But it’s been kinda meh.

I often feel like things are piling up on me, whether it be a random family crisis, work related stress, or any number of personal things that I’m dealing with. And I’ve struggled over the years in managing all of this “whelmedness” in a healthy way. The jury’s still kind of out.

For now, in addition to getting back into the swing of things, I’ve been taking at least an hour to myself each day. And I mean scheduling that time on my calendar even. I also just discovered (somehow it had never occurred to me before), that I can spend my lunch hour at the pool reading. It’s a great way to decompress, break up the day, and stop my mind from spinning out of control. What are your stress relievers? How do you stop yourself from feeling over, under, or just plain whelmed? Let me know!

In the meantime, here’s a recipe I’m California Dreaming about prepping for next week’s breakfast. I’ll be adding in some bell peppers and probably a little turkey sausage to get my protein grams up a bit higher, but this can definitely be a vegetarian recipe. Enjoy!
